"message": "Lay dropped images out oldest first\n\nA batch of dropped images now sorts by date before it is placed, so it reads\nleft to right in the order it was taken. Ties fall back to filename compared\nnumerically, then to arrival order.\n\nA server-side stat is not possible: the browser hands the page a file's bytes\nand metadata but never its path. So the date is File.lastModified, except for\nJPEGs, where the EXIF DateTimeOriginal is preferred when present — a photo\ncopied between drives has a modified date of whenever it was copied, while\nthe date the camera wrote into it has not moved.\n\nThe EXIF reader walks the JPEG and TIFF structures directly, handles both\nbyte orders, reads only the first 128KB, and returns null rather than\nthrowing on anything malformed.",
